The Department of Human Resource Management was once again awarded full accreditation by the SA Board for People Practice (SABPP) to offer HR related qualifications.

The award was handed to Prof Pierre Joubert, the HoD for the period that was evaluated, during the SABPP AGM held in Bryanston on 20 June 2019, by board member’s Dr James Ramakau and Prof Logan Naidoo.

This honour confirms that the offerings at Vaal University of Technology (VUT) meet the standards set by industry and the professional body and is a vote of confidence in the students graduating from this department. These graduates are exempted from the board exams and can register with SABPP as HR practitioners. Students from an accredited institution qualify for additional benefits, such as bursaries, and have an advantage over graduates from non-accredited institutions when applying for employment.

The accreditation panel, consisting of academic peers, industry representatives and SABPP officials, made various recommendations to further enhance the quality of the offerings, such as the improvement of our teaching facilities.
